Rocked Under Rocked series Book 1 edition by Cora Hawkes Literature Fiction eBooks

I read this almost 4 years ago now. I loved the book, I loved everything about the book. But sadly the author leaves somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth by promising a sequel and never delivered. OK so the first year I get but, it's been longer than enough time to pen a sequel. The book just leaves you hanging because it's not finished. Cora has not even been active on her Facebook page in years either. So if you want to read with the knowledge that you will be left hanging then by all means please do. It's a great story, but unfinished.

Rocked Under Rocked series Book 1 edition by Cora Hawkes Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I loved this story because it is much like my own. It has touched my heart. I first read this book in 2013, and have reread it several times since. I have been eagerly waiting for the 2nd in the series to be released but it has now been 5 years and still no 2nd book. I truly hope that Mrs. Hawkes is okay... no one has heard from her since July 31st, 2013.
I really enjoyed this. Scott was a sexy collage guy/rocker. He was a serious bad boy that went through women daily. But he was also messed up and like all books like this there is that one girl who make him want to be different. Okay good, great even. But man oh man Emma got on my nerves so darn bad. She was a tease and it became so dang annoying. I want him but cant have him. Boo freaking hoo. Honestly by the end I was thinking she didn't even deserve Scott. There were moment that reminded me of another book. And at times Scott reminded me of Travis from BD. Overall this was a good read but it tried my patience at times.
It started off great but went nowhere quickly. It was full of sexual tension and angst. Emma kept pushing Scott away and then Scott would push Emma away. They would make progress and then get mad at each other again. The book seemed a lot longer than its actual pages. Spoiler alert they don't actually get together and admit their feelings to one another until 92 percent into the story. That's a long time to go back and forth with their bull.
Also, the author is obviously British so there are a lot of Britishisms which I didn't care for. Also, a few typos. If you can deal with all of that then read this. Otherwise skip it.
What can I say? I obviously enjoy angsty relationships. Lol, they are definitely entertaining. As soon as I thought the angst was getting to be too much, and that the characters needed to get a clue real quick, they did! Good timing.

I received this Edition for free and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I would still recommend Rocked Under, even with it not being free anymore.

( Read in February of 2013 )
I was a little miffed by this book, but I stuck it out. It really felt like this was living through high school! I am sure high schoolers would really like the frustrating drama in the book. I liked the main character, Emma, but I was especially frustrated by Scott. What was his problem? I know a guy can have issues, but I kept asking myself, why am I putting myself through this? Why is Emma putting herself through this? The two kept up this dance of "I like you! I don't like you! You are such a jerk! You give mixed signals! Why do you do this to me?!" Urgh! And she give up virginity to someone she really doesn't want to give it to? What is the point? I stuck it out to the end, which was satisfying, only somewhat. Then I saw there is another book coming? I don't know that I will be getting it... I can't put myself through it again. Highschoolers, you'll love it. If not a highschooler, move on.
When I was contacted for Cora Hawkes Virtual Book Tour....I said to myself....HECK YES...and I had already purchased a copy since I was kind of stalking...Cora Hawkes website to find out when the book would release. I saw the book on Goodreads one day and read the synopsis and knew it was up my alley.

First off...let me get this into my review first. The male character is not a cheater in this book. I repeat...he is not a cheater. Unfortunately, he would be considered a ladies man. He ends up having a girl over every night....but may I also say....he has had it rough and the truth comes out towards the end, what was really going on with him. I repeat again, he is not a cheater. How can he cheat when he is never with a character? Just saying....

I really thought at one point I was going to go through the book and beat the living crap out of both characters and I never, ever feel that way over any characters when I'm reading. I should know by now that New Adult Romance is a genre that makes me love and hate characters.

Here's a short take on "Rocked Under" -
Emma has moved to the states to get away from her past and start new. She ends up moving in with her cousin, Ash, who has a friend/neighbor upstairs from them, who is a HE.
Scott is the lead singer to the rock band group, From Under, and he is every girl's dream come true.
When Emma meets Scott at the local club his band plays at, instant attraction starts. Although, Emma has been warned about Scott's tactics with girls and Scott has be warned by Ash to not get involved with her cousin. Now here starts the part where emotions go haywire for both characters.
Emma is fighting her feelings for Scott and Scott is just confused by Emma.
Bring on the emotional roller coaster of Emma and Scott and you will want to several times go through the book and knock some sense into both of these characters.

Now...you're probably thinking that I hate this book, but that's not the case. I love a book that makes me angry, happy, and sad all at once. When a book makes me cry and makes me blubber like a baby...then I know I'll be daydreaming about this book until the second book comes out in August.

I loved the angst and the sexual tension in this book.
Emma had her issues with what happened in her past and Scott has his relationship issue where he never stayed with the same girl once...but for some reason both of these characters clicked with each other. Scott had his reasons and so did Emma.

If you love the new adult romance genre, love tattooed bad boys, rock bands, and your emotions going like crazy...then you'll enjoy "Rocked Under".

And don't come back and hate me after you finish reading it and loving it and find out the next book is not out until August.
I read this book in less than two days and now I'm anxiously waiting for the 2nd book. I really hope Cora doesn't make me hate Scott. He did kind of tick me off every once in awhile in this book, but at the end, he stole my heart. Oh boy...did he steal my heart.
